Susan Leonis, CEO

From her initial roles within the Illinois Governors' offices to major leadership positions, Susan's career has been a remarkable blend of public service and impactful problem-solving. Her extensive experience across various industries has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and a vast network, enabling her to craft effective solutions for her clients' business challenges.

Starting her 40-year career in the heart of Illinois State Government, Susan played a key role in promoting the State's agenda at both national and local levels. Her commitment and expertise led her to become the Secretary of Transportation, overseeing the state's largest agency with a budget of $4.9 billion dedicated to enhancing Illinois’ transportation infrastructure.

Susan's knack for building coalitions was recognized by Governor Jim Edgar, who sought her skills to bridge connections between Illinois’ diverse communities and the state government. During her time as Edgar’s liaison, she played a pivotal role in streamlining regulations to support local governments during the challenging times following the 1991 recession.

A true Chicago native, Susan's bipartisan efforts were instrumental in negotiating crucial issues between the City of Chicago and state and Federal governments, particularly focusing on transportation and economic development. Her contributions were crucial in securing vital state funds.

Her talent for fostering partnerships across government and the private sector led to a historic moment in 1995 when Susan became the first woman appointed by four Illinois Governors to serve on the board of directors for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).

In 1995, Susan founded The Leonis Group, a boutique firm specializing in government and community relations. The firm stands out for its creative approach to developing public/private partnerships at local, regional, national, and international levels. By tapping into its deep understanding of government, community, and business dynamics, The Leonis Group excels at identifying mutual interests and opportunities.

With over three decades of experience in marketing and sales, Todd brings a wealth of expertise to the table. His career is marked by significant achievements, including representing high-value enterprises and consistently ranking in the top 1% of sales executives nationwide—a testament to his exceptional skill and dedication.

At the core of Todd's success is his belief in the power of combining seasoned experience with strategic planning and nurturing quality relationships. As the former head of Regional Sales for Effectv (previously known as Comcast Spotlight), Todd played a pivotal role in steering the company's sales strategy and driving revenue growth within Chicago, one of the largest television markets in the United States. He was instrumental in implementing the Strategic Account Management (SAM) system, focusing on cultivating long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with key clients. The teams led by Todd were known for their analytical approach and personable interactions, skillfully building connections with customers, thinking strategically about partnership opportunities, and effectively collaborating with high-level stakeholders to achieve common goals. Through thorough research and assessment, Todd and his team excelled in identifying opportunities to add value for their partners by pinpointing challenges, proposing innovative solutions, and leveraging partnerships to advance both organizations towards their strategic objectives.

Before his tenure at Effectv, Todd's journey in the advertising world began in radio sales, where he worked for leading companies such as NBC, ABC, and CBS. There, he managed multiple sales teams and drove substantial revenue growth through benefit-oriented sales presentations across various channels.

Todd holds a Bachelor of Science in Radio/TV & Journalism from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. His extensive background and strategic approach to sales and partnerships have not only propelled his career forward but have also made a lasting impact on the organizations and teams he has led.
